To watch Ashnikko on stage is to watch someone living their dream. The performance opening scene was hilarious, whimsical, and adorable to say the least.

Ashnikko is so involved with the crowd throughout the show. Clearly paying attention to everyone she can possibly see. During the Chicago show Ashnikko made a point to check in on the packed audience. A couple times having to call over security or ask to pass waters. she also checked out every possible outfit she could to share with the crowd. We all watched in awe at this beautiful display of our community’s creativity. The crowd consisted of so many amazing outfits featuring song references, past eras, and so much more! The Chicago Smoochie Girl of the night being crowned was a highlight as we all watched Ashnikko attempt to thread the crown through a giant needle.

Ashnikko’s stage presence was clearly mesmerizing. As the stage and her dancers moved and changed, the energy in the room shifted from song to song; continuously shadowing the coinciding track’s atmosphere.

Prior to playing some of her old music, Ashnikko pretenses with a current perspective on her previous works. “I don’t know WHAT I was doing.” ——Sums up what the majority of us would have to say about our own pasts. We’re right there with you girlie! <3 She proceeded to say she’s in love now to which the audience simultaneously screamed in congratulations. Growth; we love to see it!

Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom was blessed with the presence of Ashnikko’s mom and her dog Wednesday (Chichinya) as well; watching from the VIP Balcony. You could see the pride beaming from Ash’s mom’s face. All together such a loving environment to be in.

If you ever have a chance to see Ashnikko Live, do it; you won’t regret it.
